Recent Happenings...Christmas 2018

The holidays were good to us!  We hosting my Monthly Girls Dinner's Christmas party.  It was so much fun to get all dressed up and come together during the holidays.

Most of us girls- looking forward to our dinners in 2019

The day after the party my cousins came into town from Nashville to spend Christmas with all of us and it was so awesome to have them here.  We had a girls day and headed to our favorite distillery and lunch spot for a fun catch up.

My mom and I

The next day was Christmas Eve so we had a fun brunch at my parent's house before getting all dressed up and heading to our club for their Christmas Eve buffet.

The whole crew

On Christmas morning we woke up early but not too early (thank goodness) to open presents.  The kids got spoiled and loved every minute of it.

After present opening, my in laws all came over and we had a yummy breakfast of cinnamon rolls and biscuits and gravy.  It was fun for the cousins to get together and exchange gifts.  After breakfast I started making Christmas dinner.  Around 2 my family came over and we had a wonderful time exchanging gifts and spending time as a family.

All in all a wonderful holiday filled with happy memories.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Leaving on a Jetplane...to Maui

We packed up the family and headed to Maui for 10 days at the beginning of December and to say it was perfect would be an understatement.  Tice and I had never been to that island of Hawaii before so it was very special for us to all experience it at at the same time.  The kids were rockstars traveling and were so excited to get to be on an airplane again.
Kinley even took a nap on our flight from Phoenix to Maui which was awesome!
The night we arrived we stayed at a Marriott resort in Kaanapali.  We were all tired after a full day of travel so we just hit up the hotel's restaurant and then went to bed pretty early.  The next morning we headed to the resort's pool and water slide before heading to our next hotel in Wailea, the Andaz.
This was our view from the lobby.  They greeted us with cold towels and necklaces for the kids.  It was such a fun touch!

Can you spot the rainbow in the background?
At the Andaz is Morimoto's.  It was here that we had the best meal of our trip and one of the best period in a long time!  We had a red snapper with sweet soy beurre blanc and black coconut rice.  It was seriously amazing.  We also had the duck confit fried rice which was delcious!

We stayed at the Andaz for 3 nights and it was so nice, modern, upscale and had a wonderful location.  We never really left the resort because it had everything we needed...including some terrific rosé!

At the pool one of the days were here we ordered the tuna poke and it was the best I had the entire trip and it was POOL food!
After three nights at the Andaz we started to head back to Kaanapali for third hotel we were going to stay at but stopped to play a round of golf at the King Kamehameha Golf course.  It was very difficult but was so much fun to get out there with the kids!

After checking in to the Hyatt Residence Club for our final week we headed straight to Monkey Pod for dinner.  It was so yummy- especially their Mai Tai with foam on top...I could have drank those all day!

Tice took this picture from our balcony one of the nights we were there...no photoshop here!
Obviously he loves the water and sunshine!
We headed to Fleetwood's one night to take in the sunset and it did not disappoint.

The kids obviously loved the bread platter
The view from our balcony
Heading to dinner one night...notice the little photobomber in the back
We got to watch the penguins getting fed one morning.

Living his best life!
We had to hit up Monkey Pod one more time because it was that good and it was even better during Happy Hour!
This is what happens when your husband gets to golf 5 times while on vaca...
Our wonderful friends live on Maui now and we got to invite them to the hotel and catch up!  It was fun to enjoy watching the kids play and have a couple cocktails!

Our long journey home ended up being even longer then we had expected because Tice accidentally looked at the flight times wrong.  He thought that once we took the red eye from Maui to Phoenix, we would land at 6:45 AM and then our flight home would take off at 10 AM.  Instead we were suppose to be on a flight at 10 PM!!!!!  They got us on a 7:40 PM flight but still it was the longest day ever in an airport with two tired kids and two very tired parents.  However that was the only thing that went even remotely wrong so we were all thanking our lucky stars!
