Moving & Losing...30 Day Check In

Well it has been 30 days since I wrote this post and I figured it would be a good time to do a little check in.  I committed to tracking all of my points while on Weight Watchers and to working out everyday for the first 7 days and then 6 days a week thereafter.  I can proudly say that I was able to do that and in the process lost 10 pounds!  I still have 20 pounds to loss to be where I would like to be but that it something I know I can do and will just need to keep pushing myself to achieve.

In addition to following the principles of Weight Watchers,  I worked out to Jillian Michael's 30 day shred for the first 30 days doing it almost every single day in addition to running on my treadmill.  This next 30 days I have decided to change things up just a little bit and will be working out 6 days a week, alternating between working out to Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism workout which you can find on YouTube and running 30 to 45 minutes each day.  Three of each workout each week should be a good step in the right direction and help get me into a much needed routine of working out consistently which has been a major problem in the past.

In addition to the amped up workouts, I will also be working on making better choices when we are dining out and late at night.  Although I would say I have been doing a pretty good job recently, my major downfall is alcohol.  I'm not really a sweets person and have always preferred to drink my calories...that kinda sounds bad but it's the truth.  I would much rather have a couple of glasses of wine than a cupcake.  Hopefully I can find some super low calorie "adult beverages"  that help me on my path to weight loss while helping me keep san with two little ones ;)   If you have any suggestions for low calorie options please let me know!

Currently Craving...Work It Out!

Happy New Year's Day!!!  You know what time it is... resolutions time.

This year, it's time to get serious...it's time to make sure that I don't just keep thinking about the things that I would like to change around me but to actually take action and get them done.  The item at the top of my list is losing weight.  Ok, ok you say, you and everyone else but I'm serious.  The longer I wait to make a change for the good the harder it will be.  That's why I have decided to help myself out as much as possible from the very beginning by setting myself up for success.  I have gone ahead and listed every bite I will be taking for the next 2 weeks so that I can give myself a head start.

On top of extensive meal planning, I have also committed myself to a cycle of the 30 day shred.  I do NOT enjoy working out... I force myself every time I work out to do it and constantly need to change things up so that I am not bored.  I also run for a majority of my workouts so I would like to incorporate more strength training into my workouts.  That's why I am also going to complete the following workout everyday during my first two weeks:

Run 1 mile at a warm up pace
Complete Phase 1 workout from 30 Day Shred
Run 1/2 mile to finish

Staying motivated will come when I see the numbers on the scale and when I get the chance to begin sporting some of the new gym gear that I recently got like these new tanks, another pair of my FAVORITE leggings,  and this new sports bra.  I am also LOVING this pair of Nikes and would love to get my hands on them!  Here are a couple of other items that I know could help me stay motivated :)
