Nordstrom Anniversary Sale...Early Access Purchases

The day is finally here! Early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale opened up today and to say that I went a little over board is an understatement!  I look forward to this sale every year and have learned from my past experiences that items do truly sell out quickly and if you even think you may want something, just go ahead and purchase it.  Remember you can decide once you have it and return it with their free returns if it isn't for you.  

I grabbed some amazing deals for both myself and the boys in my life but didn't see anything that I needed or even wanted for Kinley...maybe next year!  So without further ado, here are my purchases from the sale this year.  I know there is no way I will keep everything but I hope I like a great majority of it all once it arrives in the mail next week!!!

In addition to the items above I also got this year's version of the it sweater last fall/winter, this cold shoulder top,  this peplum sweatshirt in mint,  these skinny jeans in a dark wash, this cold shoulder ruffled sweater, this blouse in pink, these cropped workout pants from my favorite brand,  this lattice back sweater in ivory, and this maxi dress in red because let's be honest, it's still the middle of summer and WAY to early to actually wear any sweater. Finally for Tice I got him this pullover from my favorite winter brand in blue.  I can't wait to see him in it!  I have one and LOVE mine.  I wish they would have included one for the ladies in this year's sale.

Recent Spring Purchases

Now that spring has officially arrived I have been all over adding some new pieces to my closet to greet the new season and I couldn't be more excited about it!  

I love Shopbop for many reasons, including their super fast shipping and large selection so when I was trying to put together a list of outfits for an upcoming girl's trip I knew I would find something special there.  I ended up grabbing this top and CANNOT wait for it to arrive!  Fun shoulder and sleeve details are still going to be huge for Fall so I know I am going to get a bunch of wears out of it now and later!

I also got these mules and even though I wasn't sure I would keep them I already have a ton of different outfits they are going to complete.  Plus at under $50 they are the perfect trendy shoe that doesn't break the bank.

I also expanded my sunnies collection with these statement makers after misplacing my favorite pair of Gucci's that I had had for over 12 years....I am still so sad!!!  My new sunnies are available here.  I also have my eyes on these beauties.

I also got this new top which even though I didn't need yet another off the shoulder top, it just had to be purchased and I'm so glad I got it.

I also finally got on board with a more expensive dry shampoo and I can't even explain what a difference it has made.  I seriously can't imagine living without this stuff now...so worth the price! 

Finally I placed an order on H&M.com a couple of weeks ago and snagged these three tops and am really liking them so far.   The first is a ribbed white sweater, then a pink ruffled sweatshirt, and finally a peplum and bell sleeve cream number!

Currently Craving...Valentine's Day Date Night Dresses

Anyone that knows me knows I love any reason to get all dressed up and with Valentine's Day right around the corner I have been looking for the perfect pink or red dress to wear.

Currently Craving...Red & Pink

With Valentine's Day less than a month away I have had a lot of pink and red on my mind lately!  Here are just a couple of my favorite pieces to get you in the spirit!

I have been wanting to try this lip gloss/stick for some time now but hadn't yet pulled the trigger.  After seeing this two color kit I know now I will be!  Can't wait to see how much I love it!  I also recently ordered this top and love it!  It's on major sale and is very nicely made.  I also love the look of this top- perfect for transitioning into spring- and at under $40 it's a great buy!  As for the shoe department I am OBSESSED with these heels!  I don't have anything else like them and know that they would make the perfect addition to my closet!

Currently Craving...Thanksgiving Day Outfit

I ordered a lot of the items from Nordstrom, ASOS, and Nordstrom Rack so it will be fun to see what I keep and what goes back once they arrive.  I have noticed that I am getting much picker about how things fit and their quality then I ever use too. I am also making sure that I really LOVE the items I buy otherwise I know I won't reach for it in my closet and get the use out of it that it deserves.

Getting Festive...Valentine's Day Home Decor

This year I decided to throw a couple of simple decor items up above the fireplace in honor of Valentine's Day!  I created the glitter "love" piece of artwork after I saw something similar at Hobby Lobby but didn't want to pay $50 for it!  then I got the simple banner from the dollar section at Target.  The rest was things I brought in from around the house.  The total cost was $10.

Other areas of our home aren't quite as dressed up for the upcoming holiday so I decided to put together a list of my favorite home decor items that would be perfect additions!

Currently Craving...Pink & Red

TGIF

This week seemed to DRAG on and on so can I get a hallelujah that it's finally Friday!  Not only did this week seem to drag but Sawyer also got sick with a 24 hour flu bug for the first time and it was the saddest and grossest thing.  I did however have plenty of time for cooking, cleaning, and working out so that was good.

Today Sawyer is finally starting to feel better which is great because we have a bunch of fun things planned this weekend.   Tonight we are having friends over for dinner, tomorrow night we are attending a birthday party for a friend, and then Sunday we have a date night planned!  I can't wait!  I am definitely one of those types of people that need to get out and about so the fact that I haven't gotten to do that as much this week is making me extra excited for all of our plans this weekend.

On another note, one of the few places I did go this week was Target and when I was there on Wednesday I saw this adorable Valentine's Day banner.  I saw it when I was leaving so I figured I would just come back later in the week to get it.  Well I went this morning and they were all gone...crap, I absolutely hate when that happens.  They may get more an employee said but who knows so I will most likely just get to work and make my own.  I will share our Valentine's Day decor next week with you all because it is coming together rather nicely!

During our recent trip to Denver, my girlfriend and I were able to go shopping and I snatched up a bunch of cute things!  I grabbed this sweater in a beautiful pink color from J. Crew of a steal of a deal and then grabbed this black lace top and this sweater/sweatshirt in cream and coral from H&M. Finally, to help with motivation in the fitness department, I grabbed this sports bra from Forever 21.

Getting Festive...New Year's Eve Outfit Ideas

Currently Craving...Holiday Event Attire

We have a bunch of holiday events and parties to attend in the coming weeks so I thought I would take a moment to share with you some of the items that I picked up and plan to wear.  

The first event on the calendar is a charity dinner this Thursday.  I picked up this crop top from Forever 21 that I can't wait to arrive and see in person.  I plan on pairing it with either a white A-line skirt like this one or my pleated leather skirt.

Then on Saturday night we have our annual parade of lights.  I am wearing this sweater in olive green (on major sale!), these jeans, and these boots in taupe.  I should be festive and nice and toasty warm!  

For our annual girl's group Christmas party I ordered this dress and also can't wait to see it in person.  It appears to be well made and structured in the pictures of it online so I can't wait to see if it really is.

Currently Craving...What I'm Wearing on Thanksgiving

I have always loved Olivia Palermo and her style so when I found a dress last year at the end of the season that looked almost identical to a dress she had worn I snatched it up!  The best part...it was $4 at Gap!  Here she is in my inspiration picture-
