Recent Happenings...The Rim Rock Marathon

As some of you may know Tice proposed to me after he ran his first marathon.  He never really trained for it, he just put his mind to it and did it.  However he had always wanted to run another marathon after the first and finally decided this summer that he would run the marathon that races to the top of the Colorado National Monument and then back down it into the town of Fruita.   Well race day finally rolled around on Saturday, November 5th and I'm proud to say he completed his second marathon!
Tice and his good friend Kevin, who was cheering him on from the sidelines!

Eating a little snack while waiting for Daddy to cross the finish line!
Sawyer and the sign he made at school to cheer on Daddy!

Crossing the finish line together!

Everyone was so happy he was finished and the race organizers were so sweet to give all three of them medals!

Currently Craving...Work It Out!

Happy New Year's Day!!!  You know what time it is... resolutions time.

This year, it's time to get serious...it's time to make sure that I don't just keep thinking about the things that I would like to change around me but to actually take action and get them done.  The item at the top of my list is losing weight.  Ok, ok you say, you and everyone else but I'm serious.  The longer I wait to make a change for the good the harder it will be.  That's why I have decided to help myself out as much as possible from the very beginning by setting myself up for success.  I have gone ahead and listed every bite I will be taking for the next 2 weeks so that I can give myself a head start.

On top of extensive meal planning, I have also committed myself to a cycle of the 30 day shred.  I do NOT enjoy working out... I force myself every time I work out to do it and constantly need to change things up so that I am not bored.  I also run for a majority of my workouts so I would like to incorporate more strength training into my workouts.  That's why I am also going to complete the following workout everyday during my first two weeks:

Run 1 mile at a warm up pace
Complete Phase 1 workout from 30 Day Shred
Run 1/2 mile to finish

Staying motivated will come when I see the numbers on the scale and when I get the chance to begin sporting some of the new gym gear that I recently got like these new tanks, another pair of my FAVORITE leggings,  and this new sports bra.  I am also LOVING this pair of Nikes and would love to get my hands on them!  Here are a couple of other items that I know could help me stay motivated :)

Do you have any New Year's resolutions?  Are you also trying to lose a couple of pounds?  Any tips for staying on track?  Please let me know!

Recent Happenings...Running Stats

Motivation has been seriously lacking lately.  It has been so hard for me to get back into the groove of finding time to run ever since Kinley has stopped taking morning naps most mornings.  Sometimes I force myself to wait until nap time in the afternoon when they both go down but sometimes that doesn't happen and I find a reason to skip it all together.  Here's hoping this week turns out differently because I have some serious shaping up to do.

One motivating factor that may help is I just started watching Sons of Anarchy on Amazon Prime and to say that I am addicted is an understatement!

Recent Happenings...Running Stats

Here are my recent running figures since last week.  I'm so happy that we have the treadmill in our garage because otherwise I know I wouldn't be running as much as I am.  Now if only I could indulge a little less...I'd be set!

Recent Running Stats

My runs have become shorter lately which is something I would like to change...if nothing else I would like be taking longer runs so that is something I need to work on.  I guess I should just be happy I'm doing it in the first place.

Here are my runs from the last week

Recent Running Stats

I have been doing a good job of making sure I get in at least 3 runs in a week but am normally closer to 5.  I absolutely love having the treadmill in our garage and getting to go out there whenever I have a moment to myself!  Here are some of my recent runs stats for the last two weeks.  They are all over the place in terms of time, calories burned, and distance because I often select a different HITT workout off of my Fitness Pinterest Board, which you can find here.

Recent Running Stats

After receiving my new treadmill for Mother's Day I have been doing a good job of making sure I get 3 to 5 workouts in per week.  I love being able to put Kinley down for her morning nap, turing on a show for Sawyer and heading out to the garage and forgetting about everything for a little bit.  To make sure I stay accountable I want to make sure I do two things!  One is having a calendar on the side of the fridge where I mark through each day I am able to run and second is to share here with you my stats from my runs for the week!

Hopefully I can stick with it!  I still have about 10-15 pounds to lose to be back at my pre-baby weight and I would love to get there sooner then later!
