Home Sweet Home

Tice and I have always wanted to move back to Colorado at some point but once we had Sawyer the desire to move back grew stronger by 10 fold!  So when the PERFECT opportunity to move back to our hometown of Grand Junction presented itself, Tice and I decided to do everything in our power to make it happen.

It all began when a partnership of advisors who are associated with the same company Tice currently works for told Tice that if he was ever interested in taking over some practices that they were purchasing in Grand Junction that they would love to have him be the face of their company on the Western Slope.  Once they told us that though we had to wait until one of the advisors decided on their official retirement date.  Well in May we found out that the first of the three advisors decided he wanted to retire at the end of this year.  We were forced to keep this all a big secret until it go closer to the actual date because of details needing to be worked out and clients needing to be informed but we finally get to shout from the roofs we are moving back to our hometown, Grand Junction and we couldn’t be move excited!

The last couple of weeks have been CRAZY to say the least but exciting.  We are keeping our home here in Washington because we plan on coming out many times a year to visit friends and for Tice to conduct client meetings so I have been going through our things deciding what we should bring and what we should keep at our current house…but I’m kinda getting ahead of myself so let me back up a week!  J

When we were home for Elizabeth and Tim’s wedding a couple of weeks ago we went to look at houses so that we could try and narrow down were we wanted to live and if we wanted to purchase a home that we would only live in for a year and then turn into a rental or if we wanted to purchase a big home that we would have plenty of room to grow into and stay in for years.   After looking at a number of different options we finally decided on getting a home we would be able to grow into and after looking at a number of different options we finally settled on the following:

It’s located in the Redlands area of Grand Junction, is 3000 square feet, 3 big bedrooms, 4 baths, an office, a giant bonus room and an amazing great room and backyard which will be a ton of fun to entertain in for years to come!  We are slated to close in early to mid December and we couldn’t be more excited!  Sawyer and I leave on November 5th and Tice will join us the 3 week of November!

I seriously can’t wait to start decorating this new house full of grown up furniture and share all of my DIY projects along the way with you guys!
